The second day of the camp - 2nd of march
Second day of camp , was all that we hope it would be . We started off the day with a filling breakfast of fried beehoon and wanton . We then had to do area cleaning. We must salute the servants in our school who worked very hard to keep YSS clean because the canteen that we had to sweep and mop is filthy after 320 human beings ate in it.
We then proceeded to our high elements activities. My group got to try the challenge pole while the other group got to do rock climbing. We found out that the challenge pole seemed like an easy task but it turned out to be one of the hardest activity so far. Even the most bravest in our group got stuck at the top of the challenge pole while shouting that they dont know what to do or where to place their legs. Whats makes it worst was that the pole itself is a shaky structure so much so that when we tried to stand upright on it we felt as if we're parachuting down from an aeroplane. ( Trust me , it is very very scary !) The few who tried were very brave to get up the top of the challenge pole. The rest of us were encouraging them from below. During the rock climbing activity , two of our classmates managed to reach the peak of the wall. We're sure they are feeling on top of the world right now. A round of applause for the brave people ! :D
Next we tried the burmese bridge. It was nerve racking because we had to walk on two sets of logs that were suspended in the air. Of course the walk is not going to be easy as we felt like we're walking on jelly. Some of us also got to try even more difficult high elements where they're required to glide on two ropes. We had lunch after that.
The next activity we had was the team building. First of we learnt how to spell words by stepping on the correct alphabets tiles . You'll be surprised by the number of people who did not know how to spell ! It was so funny watching those who fail spelling test shaking their butts 'cause they had to do forfeit. We then did some preparations for our camp fire.
The following activity was very interesting. We had to work as a team in order to move a pair of wooden planks with ropes to reach the finishing line. In this activity, we were in groups of five. All five of us had to put both our feet on the pair of wooden plank. By using two ropes, we had to walk together. In order not to fall, we must move at the same time and in the same direction. So someone had to keep screaming "left right left right" ! Aww , its so tiring but fun !
Then, we had an activity called the sunny side up. In our groups, we are suppose to hold a piece of ground sheet. Then we must toss a small plastic ball high up in the air using the ground sheet and had to change the sides of the ground sheet and catch the ball back. It is a very interesting game because we must plan and strategize in order to toss the ball high enough while at the same time turning the ground sheet (:
After a most tiring but awesome day, we had dinner and learnt some camp fire songs. That is all that we can blog today. Yes, we are definitely sleeping early for tonight and we're looking forward to tomorrow . Tomorrow is the day - Camp fire ! Yay !
Signing off now,
2e5 .
P/S: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JOAN ! !
