First day of camp, we arrived at the Dairy Farm Adventure Centre at about 9:30am. Our first impression of the camp site is that there is a lot of trees and thus there would be a lot of insects. Since this camp is to let us step out of our comfort zone, we had to bare with the insects and apply on insect repellent.
We had our briefing and ice breaker games where we self-introduced ourselves to our instructors so that they can get to know us more, and they broke us up into two mini groups. We had to write about what we think is the aim of the camp and what we hope to learn and achieve. Then, we had our lunch which was quite "awesome". It was quite simple but our dinner was much more nicer than the lunch we had .
After lunch, we started building the tent for more than thrice with different expectations and we competed against another group for points to earn some prizes which would be given during the end of the camp. We were so frustrated that we had to continue building the tent for more than twice. But the last round some of us had to be blindfolded and the rest had to guide us to pitch the tent.
Next, we were so interested in the Flying Fox which is sosososo high that most of us screamed when they came down. And Jokim was the loudest among us all giving a drag queen cry as he flew down the rope, such a drama "queen" :B At first, we thought that it wasn't that high from the ground view, but after we climbed up to the top, we realised that it was very high and scary, we'll think twice about committing suicide from now on. Abseiling looks cool and fun too, but only the other group did that. Bizhu looked cool moon-walking down from the wall, even though she whimpered once, she reached the ground. What all of us know is that, these experiences has enriched us in ways that we can not imagine. Sec 2 camp rocks!
Then we had our campfire preparations by coming up with cheers that would stun the whole crowd during the campfire day. I'm confident that our cheer would be nice and "wow" the whole crowd. At first we couldn't think of any nice cheers until some of us were struck with inspirations.
After dinner, we had a night walk. I guess the scariest part of the night walk is that we are walking with our arms linked to each other. If one person had fall, the whole line would fall just like Humpty Dumpty. We sat on the clear grass patch after that walk to think about purpose of life and our reason of attending Sec 2 camp. The grass was very wet and our pants was quite dirty and wet. But i kind of like it , the air there . Smells good (: Then we went back to the dormitory and most of us rushed to the toilet to get a bath. As we were all sweaty and smelly after a whole day of fun and tiring experiences.
We had fun today and enjoyed the tremendous day. And we hope that tomorrow would be an even better one. We also planned to celebrate to 3 of our classmates birthday tomorrow during dinner. Hope everyone would join in the birthday song for them and enjoy the whole day through.
We had nice instructors, though they kept pestering us to shower them with praises, we still did it for our points sake. (Just joking) This wasn't the only reason that they are either nice or bad instructors. They were sometimes fierce when we don't go according to their instructions. Most of them still talked to us and joked together with us. We think that this experience with the instructors would help us throughout the four days of the camp. The main chief of the camp is Wayne, and HK. (They asked us to praise them on blog so we could get our extra points, haha.) Wayne and HK are "handsome", well, not that bad. They are still quite handsome. They are very fun to get along with but we have to make sure we don't go pass the line, and take advantage of their generosity.
Okay, till here. Will be updating again tomorrow.
Signing off right now for our supper time!
See you,
